ABOUT ME
My name’s Noah and I’m a passionate surfer, YouTuber & coach! From a young age, I’ve been obsessed with improving my surfing – I used to spend hours watching surf movies of the pros, then go out and try to be just like them. As I got older and improved, I wanted to start surf coaching and share my knowledge. I created Surfing With Noz to inspire and teach surfers from all over the world!

In-Person Coaching is currently located on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Australia.

Firstly, we organise a date/time/location. After meeting up, we will create a game plan for the session (e.g do 3 cutback attempts) then you go out and surf, coming in for feedback every 3-5 waves while I film from the beach. In the last 5-10 minutes, you’ll come in & I’ll recap the session. Later that day, I’ll send you the RAW footage + a short video analysis 🙌🏽
-
What’s included in a Video Analysis? I’ll visually break down your waves using annotations to help you get a clear understanding of your surfing. I’ll cover your technique, positioning and any areas you need help with. Then I’ll use footage of Elite surfers to show you how to improve specific areas of your surfing.
How does it work? When adding to cart, you’ll be asked to fill out a quick form. This lets me know your current skill level and lets you choose the main areas you want me to focus on! After payment, you will receive a confirmation email with instructions to send up to 5 waves of footage. The complete Video Analysis takes 1-2 business days. *You can send through surf-skate clips too! (1 skate clip = 1 wave)

You don’t need professional footage from a videographer to get a video analysis. Most students just get their family or friends to film from the beach on a digital zoom camera or even iPhones if the waves are close enough! You can even send POV footage but beach footage is recommended so I can break down your technique and get a full understanding of your surfing.
Ideally, the footage should be in HD (720p or higher) but as long as I can see the surfing, I’ll be able to perform the video analysis. The best footage is from the beach when the wave is roughly 1/3 the size of the screen – this allows me to see more of the wave and how you approach it. But don’t worry, it doesn’t have to be perfect!
*PS: Higher frame rates (50fps or higher) are best for analysing as the camera captures all the movement and maintains high image quality when using slo-motion! But again, this isn’t necessary – just a bonus tip for you frothers 😄

What’s included in a Zoom Session? 1-on-1 Zoom Sessions go for 40 minutes and are perfect for surfers who want to go through their surfing footage with a coach or just have a bunch of questions!
How does it work? First, book a time on the Surf Coaching page. Then, add to cart and checkout (you’ll receive a confirmation email with a link to the Zoom Meeting). When we’re on the call, you can ask me anything and I’ll use screen-sharing and editing software to visually break down surfing in all areas we cover! After, a recording will be sent to your email – letting you re-watch it later!

Sessions are usually a 1-hour minimum. But depending on my availability & the conditions – some students like longer sessions. I charge in 15-minute blocks for everything after 1 hour. For example, I regularly do 1hr 30 min to 2-hour sessions when the waves are good and I even had a surfer do 3 hours of coaching straight! If you prefer longer sessions just let me know before 😄
